I have been selling satellite TV since Direct TV became available in the U.S. There was one satellite and the fixed dish was $699.99. Back then you could not sell it below $699.99. Not much before the patent was up the price did start coming down by $100. When Dish was finally allowed to sell their systems, their quality was a further improvement. NFL Ticket - Direct TV has it. All of Sunday afternoon games.

Dish has been more lenient on local network packages. For example a Washington Redskin fan in Pennsylvania that qualifies for out of area networks package can choose the Washington D.C. networks.
